Breakfast Clubs are a popular way of motivating and encouraging Foyer residents to get up, eat breakfast and keep to a routine...
Brighton and Hove Foyer's Breakfast Club offers a wide range of food for residents. Some of what's on offer includes muesli, porridge, fresh fruit, eggs, tomatoes, beans and healthy drinks such as fresh juice and home-made smoothies. Breakfast club runs from 8.15 am to 9.15 am, so it is an incentive for residents to get up early and kick start their day.
Residents have learnt new skills at Breakfast Club and now know how to cook the perfect egg!
Some residents have even started making smoothies and sandwiches to sell to staff and residents at reception.
What did Brighton and Hove Foyer residents think about the Breakfast Club?
"It is a good place to socialise with other residents."
"It gets me up in the mornings and gives me energy to get to work."
Salford Foyer’s ‘Mid-Morning Mission’ is a club with activities, information and of course, breakfast!
The Breakfast Club at Sleaford Foyer has worked wonders and it has really benefited residents. Here are just some of the positive results:
- More regular sleep patterns
- Healthier breakfast for some residents
- Actually eating breakfast for other residents
- Agreeing to a wakeup call protocol between staff and residents
- Keeping up college courses and programmes – with more young people completing courses than in previous years
- Giving young people a chance to rethink their whole diet and make positive changes
